My wife was in Nashville this past weekend and saw an amazing new band: The Felice Brothers. She and her friends met them after the show and they ended up coming over to her friend's house and parking their Winnebago in their backyard for three days thereafter. She came back with the cd, and I must say I am very impressed. At first listen, nostalgic echoes of Dylan and Prine immediately grab my ear, throw in a dash of Dr. Dog and you have the Felice Brothers. With the accordion and organ drifting throughout most tracks, one can't help feel as if he is in a Tennessee Williams play set in an eery New Orleans midnight. From start to finish, The Adventures of the Felice Brothers Vol. 1never ceases to impress. Hailing from the Hudson River Valley part of New York state, The Felice Brothers packed The Adventures of the Felice Brothers Vol. I, full of sing-a-longs, hooky lyrics, and crafty instrumentation that create an original masterpiece. Unfortunately, I missed them opening up for Bright Eyes on Tuesday Night in Memphis while the Real World was slowly rearing its ugly head into my life. Felice Brothers Myspace

Nice. Vocalist sounds a little like Old Crow Medicine Show at times, but not as twangy. Count RC as 0-fer on Bright Eyes shows--I had to give my tickets up to Ed due to real world demands too.

i saw the felice brothers in delaware when the opened for bright eyes. and it was a pleasant suprise. i've loved bob dylan, and i instantly fell in love with the felice brothers. youre wife is crazy lucky to get to han out with them for so long. thats great.
They played an awesome set in Portsmouth, NH, opening for Bright Eyes. Bought their 2 albums while I was there, and am very impressed.
saw them in portsmouth as well. randomly met the bassist and james (accordion) on the street and shared smokes and coffee with hime for some time. good dude.
Well, I love their album "Tonight at the Arizona", but since I'm not able to see one of the shows, would it be possible for you to share the new tour-only Adventures of the Felice Brothers with an ever-growing community of admirers?
I am lucky enough to live in the Hudson Valley where The Felice Brothers play frequently. Ive seen them 5x in 5 months, and each time their shows get more and more packed, and they continue to do an outstanding performance with a mixed age group crowd singing along and standing up and clapping. They also have a huge fan club/support of family and friends at all the shows. Baby Boomers-if you havent seen them live, you are missing out-they will bring you back to the 60's, have you laughing at some of the silly lyrics, and thinking about the old days, and begging for another song.
