Check out Portland's Blind Pilot. It reminds me a touch of the Shins, with a little Youth Group thrown in. It is a solid indie folk-ish album with sporadic instruments such as a banjo. They recently played at SXSW and are going on tour with the Decemberists. Check out a full concert at NPR.
